"mY PRACTICE IS a ritual of reconnection with the living worlD

I paint as an act of devotion to the earth.

What does this mean?

I harvest rock pigment in the spirit of reciprocal foraging: I take only what I need, I do not disturb the landscape, I listen for the stones’ permission before processing them.

When I paint, I ask the stones — these ancient beings formed over billions of years —what they would like to become, what they would have me say. I listen. I am woven back in to the fabric of the living world. My paintings are made of the body of the earth herself. They hold the power and the possibility of this reweaving for each one of us.

LAND reconnection COMMISSIONS

IS THERE A place in nature that you love? Is there land that you long to be closer to?

I invite you to share in the transformational experience of my earth pigment practice. We will harvest and process stones into watercolor. Then I will make a painting for you, a way for you to be in daily conversation with this place you love, a piece of it to hang in your home.

“Such a meaningful piece of work. When I told her the stones were from our creek, she was very moved.”
